Over the past decade, HERE-Geneva has established itself as a key independent think tank, bridging gaps between humanitarian policy and operational practice through rigorous research, evaluations, and convenings. Focused on principled humanitarian action, protection, and accountability, HERE has influenced major frameworks like the Grand Bargain and policies of UNICEF and IOM. Its hybrid model—combining commissioned projects with advocacy—has strengthened its role in the humanitarian ecosystem, though stakeholders highlight the need for more concise communication and broader engagement beyond traditional networks. While HERE’s convening power and “critical friend” approach are widely valued, sustaining impact requires diversified funding and structured follow-up to translate insights into actionable change. This review reflects on achievements, lessons, and future strategies to ensure HERE’s continued relevance.
