Final report expected: 2024

Switzerland is internationally regarded, especially in its multilateral engagement within the United Nations, as a key player in promoting and supporting the protection of civilians in armed conflict. This role and reputation is one that the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs (FDFA) not only wants to maintain, but also to strengthen in light of the global trends and challenges that exist when it comes to protecting civilians caught in war. To this end, the FDFA has asked HERE-Geneva to come up with suggestions for its agenda on protection and advice for setting priorities.
